Laud has over 40 years’ experience in legal, environmental, financial, administrative and business matters in the public as well as private sectors of the economy. He is a legal adviser to several organizations and companies both local and foreign spanning across Africa, United States, Europe, Japan, China, etc.
His areas of interest include oil and gas, investment, banking, joint ventures, acquisitions and mergers, real estate, land and litigation. He has been an external solicitor and legal adviser to various banks in Ghana. His passion and drive for environmental issues played a key role in his accepting the position as the legal adviser to the Ghana Heritage Conservation Trust. A Trust set up with support of USAID for the conservation of Kakum National Park and some Forts and Castles in the Central Region. His integrity, patience and practical experience has enabled him to successfully mediate, arbitrate and resolve complex commercial, corporate and other disputes and conflicts to the satisfaction of the parties.
He was called to the Ghanaian Bar in 1976 and has a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the Pan African Lawyers Union and the Ghana Association of Certified Mediators and Arbitrators (GHACMA).
Laud is an ardent sportsman having played volleyball for Ghana and served in various capacities for the Ghana Football Association including its Appeals Committee. He loves to play tennis and chess.
